Its twin-engine configuration provides great reliability when the situation gets really desperate.
The Typhoon excels at any job that is given to it in air-to-air combat and interception. Cost Comparison: Eurofighter vs. F-35

Although the Typhoon is cheaper to purchase, the Typhoon costs more to operate in fuel use and maintenance compared to the F-35. The latter is costly in operation but has cost savings through economies of scale and standardized production which may help lower cost over time.
Geopolitical Considerations for Turkey’s Selection
Turkey’s choice will determine how that plays in NATO. Selecting the F-35 would be on par with NATO standards, but there are geopolitical challenges to that. Selecting the Eurofighter would simply make it easier for Turkey to get along with European allies.
Turkey’s removal from the F-35 program over its acquisition of Russian S-400 systems complicates the choice. While the Eurofighter is free from U.S. sanctions, the F-35 offers a more advanced tech suite, albeit with strings attached.
Performance Comparison: Which Better Meets Turkey’s Needs?
Typhoon is an air-superiority fighter with tremendous capabilities in air-to-air close and long-range combat and defense. F-35 provides multi-role flexibility, with a huge advantage in stealth and electronic warfare missions.
A twin-engine configuration for the Typhoon would make maintenance easier but more expensive in the long run. The F-35 is configured to have leading-edge software and advanced components, which are pricey to maintain and support but give the future-proof capabilities in return.
Possible Impact on Turkey’s Defence Future
Getting either will dramatically increase Turkey’s regional influence. But whatever Turkey chooses will be choosing how it wants to fight its battles-air superiority or stealth operation.
Of course, investment in the F-35 might also open the doors for local industry to participate by eliminating geopotential challenges. Eurofighter, with its modular architecture, also offers opportunities for Turkey to integrate its indigenous systems and technologies.
